Description

Strawberry Heaven is a light, creamy, no-bake layered dessert made with fluffy angel food cake, sweet fresh strawberries, and a rich cream cheese filling. Perfect for summer gatherings, potlucks, holidays, or family dinners, this refreshing dessert is easy to assemble, make ahead, and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Base

  • 1 (10–14 oz) angel food cake, torn into bite-sized pieces

For the Cream Layer

  • 8 oz (226 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), thawed

For the Strawberry Layer

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

For the Topping

  • Fresh strawberry slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries with the sugar (if using) and lemon juice. Toss gently and let stand for 10–15 minutes to release their natural juices.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Beat until fully combined and silky.
  • Fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Spread half of the angel food cake pieces evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Spoon and spread half of the cream mixture over the cake.
  • Top with half of the prepared strawberries and their juices.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, cream mixture, and strawberries.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours, or until well chilled and set.
  • Garnish with additional fresh strawberries before serving, if desired. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • Use ripe, fresh strawberries for the sweetest flavor and best texture.
  • Allow the dessert to chill for at least 2–3 hours before serving so the layers can set properly.
  • Tear the angel food cake into evenly sized bite-sized pieces for the best layered texture.
  • Garnish with fresh strawberries just before serving to keep the topping looking bright and fresh.
  • This dessert can be made up to one day in advance, making it ideal for entertaining.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days for the freshest flavor.
  • Frozen strawberries are not recommended, as they release excess liquid and may make the dessert watery.
  • For an elegant presentation, assemble the dessert in individual parfait glasses or dessert cups.
