  • Author: chef Jennifer
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

This easy Sugar-Free 2-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse is a rich, creamy, and fluffy no-bake dessert made with just cold heavy whipping cream and sugar-free instant chocolate pudding mix. It takes only minutes to prepare and needs no eggs, melted chocolate, or complicated cooking. Serve it chilled in individual dessert cups with sugar-free whipped cream, cocoa powder, chocolate shavings, or fresh berries for an effortless low-sugar treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cold heavy whipping cream
  • 1 box sugar-free instant chocolate pudding mix
  • Optional: sugar-free whipped cream, for topping
  • Optional: unsweetened cocoa powder, for topping
  • Optional: sugar-free dark chocolate shavings, for topping
  • Optional: fresh berries, for topping

Instructions

  • Pour the cold heavy whipping cream into a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the sugar-free instant chocolate pudding mix.
  • Using a hand mixer, beat on medium speed until the mixture becomes thick, smooth, fluffy, and mousse-like.
  • Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed and mix briefly again. Do not overwhip.
  • Spoon the mousse evenly into 6 small dessert cups.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. For a firmer texture, chill for several hours or overnight.
  • Just before serving, top with sugar-free whipped cream, unsweetened cocoa powder, chocolate shavings, or fresh berries, if desired.
  • Serve chilled.

Notes

  • Use heavy whipping cream straight from the refrigerator for the best texture.
  • Chilling the mixing bowl and beaters can help the cream whip more easily.
  • Use instant sugar-free chocolate pudding mix, not cook-and-serve pudding.
  • Avoid overwhipping, as the mousse can become grainy or overly stiff.
  • For a deeper chocolate flavor, add a tiny pinch of instant coffee powder.
  • For variations, try peppermint extract for mint chocolate, unsweetened coconut for chocolate coconut, fresh berries for a fruity topping, or a small swirl of peanut butter for chocolate peanut butter mousse.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Nutrition values are approximate and can vary by brand and toppings.
  • For a keto or very-low-carb diet, check the nutrition label of the specific pudding mix you use.
