  • Yield: 1 individual mug brownie 1x

Description

Satisfy your chocolate cravings with this rich, fudgy Sugar-Free Brownie In A Mug! Made with unsweetened cocoa powder, a sugar-free sweetener, and melty sugar-free chocolate chips, this single-serving dessert delivers delicious brownie flavor in about one minute in the microwave. It’s quick, easy to make with simple pantry ingredients, and perfect for a late-night treat or an afternoon chocolate fix. No oven, no complicated baking, and minimal cleanup required!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar-free sweetener (allulose or monk fruit blend)
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 3 tablespoons milk (dairy or unsweetened almond milk)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons sugar-free dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus extra for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: In a 10- to 12-ounce microwave-safe mug, add the cocoa powder, flour, sugar-free sweetener, and salt. Stir with a fork until evenly combined.
  2. Add the wet ingredients: Pour in the milk, vegetable oil or melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Stir gently until the batter is mostly smooth, scraping the bottom and sides of the mug to incorporate any dry ingredients. Avoid overmixing.
  3. Fold in the chocolate chips: Add the sugar-free chocolate chips and stir gently to distribute them throughout the batter. Sprinkle a few extra chips on top if desired.
  4. Microwave the brownie: Microwave on high for approximately 60 seconds. The brownie should look mostly set on top while remaining soft and fudgy in the center. If necessary, continue cooking in 10-second increments, checking after each interval.
  5. Cool and enjoy: Carefully remove the hot mug from the microwave and let the brownie cool for 2–3 minutes. Enjoy warm straight from the mug, optionally topped with sugar-free whipped cream or sugar-free vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Avoid overcooking: Start with 60 seconds, as microwave wattages vary. The brownie will continue to set slightly as it cools.
  • Choose your sweetener: Granulated allulose or a monk fruit blend designed for baking generally works well. Check the package instructions because sweetness varies by brand.
  • Try a lower-carb variation: Substitute almond flour for all-purpose flour. The brownie will have a denser texture, and the nutrition values will change.
  • Swap the oil: Melted butter can replace the vegetable or coconut oil for a richer, buttery flavor.
  • Make it dairy-free: Use unsweetened almond milk and dairy-free sugar-free chocolate chips.
  • Serve it warm: Add sugar-free whipped cream, a few fresh raspberries, or a scoop of sugar-free vanilla ice cream.
  • Storage: This single-serving brownie is best enjoyed fresh. If needed, cover and refrigerate leftovers, then reheat briefly in the microwave.
  • Dietary note: Use products labeled sugar-free and check their ingredient lists. Sugar-free does not automatically mean low-carb or suitable for every dietary requirement.
